Refund Policy

At Global Medical Insights Journal, we strive to maintain transparency and fairness in all transactions related to manuscript submission, publication, and other services. This Refund Policy outlines the procedures and conditions under which refunds may be issued for fees paid to the journal.

1. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Global Medical Insights Journal charges Article Processing Charges (APCs) to cover the costs of manuscript handling, peer review, editorial work, and online publication. Once an APC is paid, it is generally non-refundable. However, refunds may be issued in the following circumstances:

Refund Eligibility

  • Manuscript Rejection: If the manuscript is rejected after submission but before acceptance for publication, the APC will be refunded in full.

  • Withdrawal of Manuscript Before Acceptance: If the authors decide to withdraw the manuscript before it is accepted (and no peer review has taken place), the APC will be refunded in full, minus any administrative fees that may have been incurred.

  • Editorial or Publisher Error: If the manuscript is accepted but a significant editorial or publisher error occurs, resulting in the article being incorrectly published or not published as expected, the APC may be refunded in full or in part.

Non-Refundable APC

  • Post-Acceptance Withdrawal: Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication and the APC has been paid, the APC is non-refundable, even if the authors withdraw the manuscript after acceptance.

  • Accepted Manuscripts in Final Stages: If the manuscript has been accepted, copyedited, and is in the final stages of preparation for publication (e.g., formatting, typesetting), the APC will not be refunded.

  • Failure to Respond to Reviewer Feedback: If the manuscript is accepted with the condition of revisions and the author fails to respond to reviewer comments or does not resubmit the revised manuscript within a reasonable time frame, the APC remains non-refundable.

2. Subscription Fees

Global Medical Insights Journal operates on an open-access model, where content is freely available to all users. For institutional or individual subscriptions (e.g., for printed copies or special access to additional services), the following conditions apply:

  • Subscription Cancellation: If a subscription is canceled before its expiration, no refund will be issued. However, the subscription will remain active until the end of the current term.

  • Payment Error: If a payment error is made (e.g., duplicate payment, overcharge), a refund will be issued for the excess amount. Refunds for payment errors must be requested within 30 days of payment.

3. Refund Request Process

To request a refund, authors or subscribers must contact the editorial office via email at [insert contact email]. The request should include the following information:

  • Name and contact information

  • Transaction details (e.g., payment receipt, invoice number)

  • Manuscript or subscription details (e.g., manuscript ID, article title, subscription type)

  • Reason for refund request

The editorial team will review the request and respond within 5–7 business days. If the refund request is deemed valid, the payment will be processed according to the terms of this policy.

4. Refund Processing Time

Once a refund is approved, it will be processed within 30 business days. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties.

5. Exceptions

  • Refunds Not Available: In cases where the refund request does not meet the criteria outlined in this policy (e.g., withdrawal after acceptance, non-refundable APC), no refund will be issued.

  • No Refund for Published Content: Once an article is published and made available to the public (online or in print), the APC is non-refundable, regardless of whether the article is subsequently removed or retracted.

6. Changes to the Refund Policy

Global Medical Insights Journal reserves the right to amend this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on the journal’s website and will be effective immediately. Authors and subscribers will be informed of any significant changes to the policy.
